If you lose 10% of your weight it will lower the chance of you getting cardiovascular diseases, gallstones, type 2 diabetes, impotence and other things you can get by being overweight.

If you need to lose a lot of pounds, it is important to take small steps, so you don’t lose your motivation to get rid of those pounds.
If you need to lose 50 pounds for instance, (you could check a BMI calculator to check what you need for the ideal weight), it can be tough, and you could easily give up because it seems impossible. That’s why it is imperative that you set your primary goal to 10% weight loss and you have one year to do it.
Should you end up only losing 8% instead of 10% means you still achieved something, and you should give yourself credit for achieving this?
